We always say our screen products, whether it be door screens, window screens or porch screens, are easy to install and take the minimum amount of tools. However when you need a part or installation tool, we ask you come to us. The quality of your new door or window is only as good as the quality of its parts.

Don’t purchase the parts needed to install or repair your door at the local hardware store where quality isn’t ensured. Don’t order specialized screen door products off of a generic website without a customer service representative to help you make the right decision. Then, the perfect part will be delivered to your door step.

DIY is thrilled to bring you a large variety of  screening tools for those do-it-yourself window and door screen replacement and repair jobs! Simply your project and get the perfect tools for the task!

Hand Riveter

What is a hand riveter? Wondering how to use a riveter tool? If these questions came to mind when you saw this tool, then you’re in the right spot. Hand riveters are a manually operated tool used to install blind rivets. They work by pulling the rivet mandrel through the rivet body to expand and secure it. Rivets are a better option than nails and bolts because they provide a sturdier and long lasting finish. DIY Screens Direct provides hand riveter instructions so that you know exactly how to best install screens. If you’re working on replacing your window or door screens and want to make the job simpler and longer-lasting, this is a must-have tool!

Professional Roller Knife Combo Screen Roller

How does this window screen spline tool help you? A combo screen roller makes smoothing and trimming screen and spline easy! These screen spline installation tools are the best on the market and work in tandem to create a tight and smooth screen fit in your frame, as well as to cut off excess screen mesh. Use DIY’s most professional screen spline tool available and make your screen installation simple and fast!

Screen Mouse

Not to be confused with a computer mouse, the screen mouse, also known as a spline mouse tool or a screen mouse spline roller, is a fantastic tool for installing insect screening. Designed to cut your installation or repair time in half, it feeds the spline through the roller. Not sure how to spline a screen or how to insert screen spline? DIY Screens Direct screen kits all feature quick and easy installation and clear instructions.

Step Drill

If you’re not sure what part a step drill plays in screen installation or repair, DIY Screens Direct will talk you through how to use step bits for your screen repair or replacement job! How do step bits work? A step drill bit is a specialty drill bit or cutting tool used to create holes in wood or metal. The purpose of a step drill bit is to shorten the time it takes to create the desired openings in your mesh or screen frame. This means your screen repair or installation is faster and easier!

Utility Knife

DIY Screens Direct offers the best utility knife for your insect screen installation process. Our small utility knife can serve a number of purposes for you. In the field of window and door screens, it is useful for repairing, cutting, or replacing screens. During the process, you may use your utility knife in a number of ways.

  • Use a utility knife to square off a screen hole or tear (leave some old screen between the tear and the metal frame).
  • You may use your utility knife to remove the spline from the edges surrounding the screen so your old screening will easily fall away.
  • Once you’re onto the new screen, you can push spline into each corner of the new window or door gently using your utility knife.
  • Use your utility knife to trim any excess spline and screen from the frame (make sure to cut toward the outside edge of the spline groove to prevent damaging the newly-installed screen fabric).
